Now in its 43rd year, the People of the Year Awards is the longest-running awards event and widely recognised as one of the highest accolades a person can receive in Ireland. Rehab Group, in partnership with RTÉ, organise the awards annually to give public recognition to those who have made a positive impact on Irish society.

Anti Conscription Conference
Wednesday, 18th of April

Ardmhéara Mícheál Mac Donncha will host a one-day conference to mark the Mansion House Conference against conscription.  Speakers on the day will include Ciarán Wallace (TCD), O’Neill’s biographer Thomas J. Morrissey SJ, Brian Hanley (Edinburgh), Liz Gillis, Dr Micheline Sheehy Skeffington (NUIG), Francis Devine (SIPTU) and Roger Cole.
The conference will begin at 10.30am in the Round Room. Admission is free and lunch is included, but advance registration is required by emailing dublinpubliclibraries@dublincity.ie

 

IIEA Conference
Monday, 23rd April

“Brexit, Ireland and The Future of Europe”

The IIEA and McCann FitzGerald, with the support of Deloitte, will host a half-day conference featuring a conversation with former Taoisigh on the topic of the Northern Ireland peace settlement, and the role it has played in the Brexit negotiations, chaired by Olivia O’Leary.

A second panel, featuring EU experts, will consider the future of the European Union without the United Kingdom and will be chaired by Philip Andrews, McCann FitzGerald.
